Obituary for Shirley J. (Rykal) Kremer

Shirley Joan Kremer (Evjen), a lifelong resident of Cadott, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 8th, at the age of 80.

Shirley was born on August 8, 1939, in the township of Siegle to Louis and Alma Evjen. The youngest of 11 siblings, she was full of kindness and spunk. She graduated from Cadott High School and married her high school sweetheart, Ronnie Rykal. Together they had four children. Ronnie passed away unexpectedly in 1968.

In 1970 Shirley married Donald Kremer of Eau Claire. They lived together in Cadott with her children and his three daughters from a previous marriage.

She was an exceptional bowler, had a talent for talkin' smart, and to anyone you ask, Shirley was always the life of the party. She loved cheering on the Green Bay Packers, taking trips to the casino, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Darrel) Spaeth of Chippewa Falls; Travis (Samantha) Rykal of Cadott; Robin Rykal (Eva Shakelton) of Cornell; Reno Rykal of Cornell; step-daughters, Coni Kremer of Sedona, Arizona and Jude Kremer of Denver, Colorado; her siblings, Ed (Jerry) Evjen of Cadott; Ione Crandell of Fall Creek; Cliff (Betty) Evjen of Silver Bay, MN; grandchildren, Jasmine Davis and Bethany (Jim) Grimm of Cadott; Cody (Dan) Panozzo of Busan, South Korea, Jordan Spaeth of Chippewa Falls; Erica (Kevin) Gringras; Erin (Jason) Ewings and Tabitha Bonander of Cornell; Lindsey (Jeon) Rykal of Tokyo, Japan; Kelsey Galetka (Trevor Witt) of Stanley; Ronnie Rykal of Eau Claire; Ryan Kremer of Naples, Florida; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; siblings, Ellis Evjen, Ruth Smith, Sis Smith, Edna Wenzel, Avis Felce, Darlene Woodford, Clid Evjen; infant son, Rocky; step-daughter, Kari Kremer; daughter-in-law, Tracy Rykal; granddaughter, Elisa Rykal and grandson Blaine Galetka.
